The US Supreme Court returned a decision on Monday, 29 June that affirmed that states have the right to establish grace periods for return of mailed ballots as long as they are postmarked on or before the designated election day. This is a victory for Overseas and Military voters. Of special note for me, my book, The Soldier Vote: War Politics and the Ballot in America, was cited in the decision. I am honored that one of the law clerks found my book and decided it helped them to make the case for the majority. View the decision here ==>> Watson - SCOTUS.pdf
